First things first, lets get how to avoid Work From Home Scams

In other words, lets get the sadness out of the way first.

Have you in the past signed up for a work from home company and it turned out to be a scam?

Hi5!

Me too, that’s why I have bought you 13 REAL ways to make money from home online.

It’s not always easy to figure out if a company is legitimate, especially when some are professional scammers.

I would google, how to make money from home as a kid, when I was a lot younger, we all want to start somewhere. But kid’s are most gullible and easily attracted to quick get rich schemes. Whether your a kid (+16) or full grown adult, use the tips below to stay vary of scammers.

Use these 4 expert tips to stay safe and get on the path to find real ways to make money from home:

1. Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if a company is legitimate.

2. Ask specific questions about the job tasks you’ll have to perform, how you’ll be paid, who will pay you and when.

3. Overstated claims? I hear ya! Be cautious of exaggerated product effectiveness, exaggerated claims of potential earnings, and demands that require you to pay for something before instructions or products are provided.

I am NOT saying paying upfront is always a scam – check out my Arise work from home review where this is not the case. However in many cases paying upfront should signal alarm bells!

4. Be wary of personal testimonials that fail to identify the person by name, so you can’t investigate further. I always look up the company on Scam adviser

Christine Durst, co founder of RatRaceRebellion.com says:

“There is currently a 61-to-1 scam ratio among work from home job leads on the internet — that is, for every legitimate job, there are 61 scams,” OH MY!

As long as you’re aware of the red flags — Such as companies requesting sensitive information upfront, being vague with answering your questions, and having a high turnaround rate — then you can easily avoid scams and land that perfect job.

Now that we have that out of the way, lets get into the ways you can make REAL money working from home. Most if not all of these are ways to make money from home WITHOUT investment.

Work from home positions come in a variety of career fields, below are 13 of my favourite ways.

Here are 13 real ways to make money from home:

#the first is my favourite and what I use to earn from home.

Customer Service Rep

Some companies like to outsource customer-service operations to third-party companies who then hire home-based workers or “agents” to take calls and orders.

“This works perfectly for me because I can set up my hours around my family’s busy lifestyle,” I usually works 15-25 hours a week, depending on my schedule – writtenbysadia

While the typical rate for these types of jobs is $9-12 per hour, many of them offer bonuses if you work more than 20 hours a week making you eligible for benefits plus a pension.

Although you are an independent contractor working self employed most of the time, they still include you in the company benefits. The company I personally have worked for and do offer bonuses is Ariseyou can also check out my review of them here.

Some other companies that hire virtual call agents include:

Airbnb Host

Do you have an extra room in your house? Try renting it out on Airbnb.com.

You can pay up to 81% of your rent by listing one room in a two-bedroom home – SmartAsset.

If you’re really looking to ring in the cash, renting out a private home or apartment is the way to go. Annual profits can range from $15,000 to $31,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. WOW!

Babysitter

You love kids ey?

I mean who doesn’t! But do you love them enough to earn a living taking care of them? Then this job is for you!

Sign up for Care.com or SitterCity to spend a few hours a week babysitting.

These websites verify both babysitters and those seeking sitters with background checks, so you can ensure you’re conversing with a reliable source. The average hourly rate for a babysitter is $28.

Survey Taker

Another one of my favourite!

Be careful though as there are plenty of opportunities for scams in this industry. So just be careful and use my tips mentioned above.

There are, however, opportunities to make money at home by taking job surveys from legitimate companies.

If you’ve got a little spare time and want to save up for a family vacation, a meal out, a shopping spree etc, try any of these green light websites:

Creative Service Provider

Do you have a skill you can sell?, no matter how small or obscure, you can likely sell your services for $5 at creative marketplaces like Fiverr.

Members offer everything from cover letter writing services, drawings, logo making, proofreading, psychic readings, online tutoring. The list is endless! Most listings start at $5 per hour.

Transcriber

Head over to TranscribeMe to earn up to $22 per audio hour for transcribing files, with top monthly earnings reaching $2,200.

Another green light transcribing company is Scribie. They pay about $5 to $30 per hour.

It is ideal to have some experience in this field before you dive into transcribing. It’s a competitive market so they can be choosey with your application.

Virtual Assistant

It’s literally being a secretary via a computer screen! Who needs face to face communication nowadays ha!

Many small business owners ranging to executive-level professionals need personal assistants, but may not be able to afford a permanent position on the payroll. I mean, office headcount is pretty expensive.

The solution: They hire people from remote locations to do their administrative work.

Virtual assistants handle all kinds of administrative projects, including admin, travel arrangements, event planning, correspondence and other support services that can be done remotely via e-mail and phone.

The rates for Virtual assistants can range from $25 to $75 or more an hour. Depends on how much work they require you to do and how often they require it.

You must have an up-to-date computer and printer.

I am yet to find a company for this type of work to try myself – so if you have any good ones in mind, then leave me a comment below.

Music Reviewer

Did you know you could be paid to listen to music?

Slicethepie is the largest paid review site on the internet that pays you to listen to music and write detailed reviews. How much you’ll earn per review varies by the quality of your review. For example, the more detailed and constructive, the better.

The minimum payment payout is $10 and your money will be sent to you via direct payments on PayPal. Awesome!

Writer, Editor, or Proofreader

Good writing is in demand, especially for online content. The web is searched over a million billion times daily to find good quality content. So why not get paid for contributing.

Good freelance writing websites to find job listings include:

JournalismJobs.com

upwork.com

MediaBistro.com

medium.com

editfast.com

Rates average at $20-$40 an hour for remote writing, editing, and proofreading jobs.

OR you can start your own blog and begin your own content journey on the web. (I will make a post soon on how you can start your own blogging career and ditch the 9-5)

Online Guide or Expert

Are you good at giving advice? Or have rays of experience in certain niches, or simply are passionate about a topic. Examples can include how to choose the perfect first car, how to repair appliances, how to cook or even make the perfect smoothie? Then listen up!

No matter what your area of expertise is, consider becoming an online expert guide.

Guides are freelancers with an ability to communicate well.

At JustAnswer.com, users agree to pay for the answers to their questions from trusted sources like vets, lawyers, doctors, and more. As a guide, you’ll be paid a percentage of the pre-negotiated price per answer and for the number of answers you provide.

Here’s a post by Anna giving you more websites you can become experts for.

Online Tutor

Having a college or university degree is pretty important for this one.

Becoming an online tutor I would say is very rewarding. If you have the skills to tutor students online in math, science, English, or language, this is a perfect fit.

Online tutoring can range from teaching kids up till tutoring adults in specific topics. The choice is yours.

Tutor.com — tutors who work for the company and have passed their probationary period can earn $10 to $14 an hour.

The main interface channel used for this is Skype.

Plus, as a virtual tutor, you can chose your own schedule, it’s fully flexible.

Data Entry Clerk

Similar to virtual assistance but less intense.

You can sign up with sites like Clickworker and The Smart Crowd to complete virtual jobs like data research, data entry, translation, and testing.

The average hourly rate for this position is $10-15. Respectively.

Website or App Tester

This is another method I use in my routine to earn from home.

Virtual workers become website or app testers by visiting and exploring new websites, performing various simple tasks on the site, and providing feedback and critiques back to the developer.

The company I use is UserTesting. They pay you $10 via PayPal for everyone 20-minute round of testing you complete. You can earn up to $60 per test, and it’s up to you how much work you’d like to take on each month.

My favourite however is Appen – love this company! They always have jobs available and send you different projects weekly.

Earning can range from $10-$70 per project.

And, there you have it! 13 real ways to make money from home.

Nothing can stop you now from bringing in that extra Kerching!

Good luck my lovelies.

Much love.
